Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon Essential Oil Used in aromatherapy:

• Enhances and lifts the mood. Calms anxiety, stress and irritation;
• Revitalises and boosts energy. Eliminates fatigue, improves concentration, and promotes clearer thinking;
• Boosts the immune system;
• Excellent for coughs and respiratory ailments. Promotes easier breathing by reducing nasal congestion. Relaxes the muscles in the throat to reduce coughing and helps to relieve throat infections and reduce fever. Also benefits the lymphatic system, reducing swelling in the lymph nodes, stimulating lymph drainage and thereby reducing the buildup of fluid that causes coughing;
• Significantly decreases nausea and vomiting associated with morning sickness;
• Eliminates toxins and pathogens in the air and on surfaces;
• Insect deterrent – cockroaches, ants and spiders hate the smell of lemon.

Applied Topically:

• Remedies acne. Regulates sebum production, balances the pH level of the skin, closes the pores, eliminates blocked pores, kills any bacteria, tames inflamed skin and removes dead skin cells;
• Radically strengthens the blood circulation just below the skin, and encourages wound healing, especially beneficial for those suffering from diabetic foot pain and ulcers;
• Nourishes and hydrates damaged skin. Relieves chapped skin;
• Brightens and lightens the skin. Fades freckles and pigmentation spots caused by age or sun;
• Reduces the appearance of scars. Exfoliates and boosts collagen to tone the skin;
• A potent anti-ageing agent to rejuvinate the skin. Boosts collagen production and improves skin elasticity, repairing and renewing to firm, lift and tighten the skin;
• Reduces cellulite. Boosts circulation and accelerates the lipolytic process, actively stimulating the breakdown of cellulite deposits for firmer and smoother looking skin. Fades the appearance of spider veins, and can also reduce the appearance of varicose veins;
• Remedies fungal infections. Effective against candida albicans which is responsible for athlete’s foot and thrush.

• A natural remedy for oral conditions when used added to toothpaste or to some water as a mouth wash. Remedies oral thrush, eliminates bacteria and freshens the breath. For a whitening effect add to baking powder and coconut oil and rub on the teeth for two minutes before rinsing.

Note: Essential oils are extremely potent and must always be diluted in a natural oil (such as almond, coconut, grape seed, jojoba oil) before application to the skin, scalp or hair). Ratio: 1 drop to 5ml oil.
Do not ingest.

Application of Lemon Essential Oil

For aromatherapy: add a few drops to a diffuser or oil burner.
For the treatment of fungus: topical application to the affected area.
For treatment of wounds: topical application to the affected area.
For skin and hair care: apply topically. Or add a few drops to moisturiser, body lotion, shampoo, etc.
For massage: 3 drops in 15-20 ml of base oil

Avoid sunlight exposure for 12 hours after using lemon essential oil on the skin
